Rupert Grint to Promote New Film at Apple Store in London

By Hanako M. Ricks

HollywoodNews.com: Rupert Grint, best known to movie audiences as Harry Potter sidekick Ron Weasley, will be busy in the days prior to his 22nd birthday, as he promotes his recent film, Cherrybomb as it is being released on DVD in the U.K.

The Cherrybomb official Facebook page has announced a fan contest where fifteen lucky fans will have the chance to meet Grint live and in-person on August 23 at the Apple Store on Regent Street in London.

The plot outline for the film is as follows: “A stunning and mysterious girl moves to town, turning two best friends against each other in competition for her heart.” (from the official Facebook page). Grint’s character in the role is quite a departure from the Harry Potter role which made him famous; he gets into drinking, drugs, sex, shoplifting and auto theft as Malachy, one of two best friends competing for the heart of Michelle (played by Kimberley Nixon). Actor Robert Sheehan plays Luke, the other best friend.

Details for the meet-and-greet session can be found here; and the trailer for Cherrybomb can be viewed below.

As mentioned earlier, Grint will celebrate his 22nd birthday on August 24.
