‘Idol’ replacements announcement bogged down by scheduling talks?
HollywoodNews.com: Everyone has been speculating who the new “American Idol” judges will be to replace especially crowd favorite Simon Cowell. While many have feared that the network has been withholding the information, maybe to draw a bigger buzz, producer Nigel Lythgoe says that it is far from that.
According to Studio Briefing, he went on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show and said, “when you’re just dealing with ordinary people, and you say, ‘I want to take you out of everything for the next four months to do American Idol, that’s OK. But when you are dealing with stars who have other lives to concentrate on, it’s like, ‘I want to take you off the planet and you’ll join us on Planet American Idol for four months,’ that’s really tough.”
So could it be that scheduling conflicts are the cause of the announcement delays?
