Bryan Singer reveals new details about ‘X-Men: First Class’
HollywoodNews.com: Details have been vague when it comes to Bryan Singer’s latest “X-Men” movie, “First Class”–a prequel/reboot hybrid featuring the backstories of several characters. In light of this, Singer sat down with AICN recently to clarify just what we can expect from everyone’s favorite mutants when they return to theaters in the film.
According to Singer, the film begins with Charles Xavier at Oxford University in the 60s, a young man in his 20s–before he became bald and wheelchair-bound. He soon befriends Erik Lehnsherr, the man who will become Magneto, and together the two dream of a world where mutants and humans can live in harmony, eventually founding the X-Men. The film is not based on the comic “First Class”, but rather a “new beginning” for the series.
Singer refers to the film as having a more “international” feel, and reveals that while neither Cyclops nor Marvel Girl are involved, Cyke’s brother Havoc will make an appearance, along with the Hellfire Club (Kevin Bacon will play Sebastian Shaw).
“First Class” begins filming this month.
