Wyclef Jean not giving up on Haiti presidential run

By Molly Sullivan

HollywoodNews.com: Although it was announced recently that Wyclef Jean would not be allowed to run for the presidential role in Haiti, he isn’t backing out of the race so easily.

Wyclef is reportedly planning on appealing the board’s decision on the belief that it threw out his presidential bid before the BCEN (national electoral dispute office) could make a final ruling on the details of his residency, reports E! News. It appears that Wyclef was taken off the list of candidates because he was not living in Haiti for the last five years as it is required.

However, Wyclef is now claiming that he has not broken any rules: “We have met all the requirements set by the laws. And the law must be respected.” The appeal will be made tomorrow, but it is unsure when a decision will be made.
