“Troll 2” might be the “Best Worst” Blu-ray you’ve ever owned

By Sean O’Connell

Hollywoodnews.com: How bad is “Troll 2?” It’s so putrid, a documentary film exists just to celebrate its awfulness.

Michael Stephenson, who starred in “Troll 2,” made a documentary, “Best Worst Movie,” investigating the picture’s status as the lowest-rated film on Rotten Tomatoes. (It’s one of a handful of films that has a 0% Fresh grade.)

“Best Worst” has enjoyed a successful run on the festival circuit, playing SXSW and winning an award at the 11tht Annual Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival in 2009. In fact, it’s probable that more people have seen the documentary about “Troll 2” then have seen “Troll 2,” itself.

But that’s about to change.

Piggybacking on the success of “Best Worst Movie,” MGM Home Entertainment is releasing “Troll 2” on Blu-ray for the first time on Oct. 5, so audiences can revelin its terribleness.

In the film, a family vacations in the town of Nilbog (which is “goblin” spelled backwards), where they encounter vegetarian goblins who turn their victims into produce before they are devoured.

The “Troll 2” Blu-ray Combo will including both a Blu-ray and DVD disc in BD Amaray. Also available is “Troll 2” on a single disc DVD in DVD Amaray.

There are no announced extras. What? Isn’t the movie enough?!
