Fantasia Barrino’s depression dates back to 2004
HollywoodNews.com: Fantasia Barrino has revealed that her recent overdose was intentional and that at that moment, she “wanted out.” She said, “I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive].”
However, her recent relationship with Antwaun Cook wasn’t the only thing that caused her to go over the edge. She now reveals that her depression dates back to 2004 when she was on “American Idol.” She says, “When I was on ‘Idol’ … they weren’t really looking at my gift. [Producers] were focusing on all the bad things I had done before I made it there.”
She adds, “[After] putting out my Lifetime movie and my book [Life Is Not a Fairy Tale], [people] picked certain things in the book, [saying], ‘She’s illiterate, she’s dumb.”
