Kim Cattrall on ‘Sex and the City 3’: ‘Who knows?’

HollywoodNews.com: After the $415 million success of the first “Sex and the City” movie, news about a sequel immediately perked up.

However, with the fan backlash and dismal domestic B.O. results for “Sex and the City 2,” news about a third installment has been as quiet as a mouse.

In a British TV interview with GMTV, Kim Cattrall replied “I don’t know. I haven’t heard anything” in terms of “Sex and the City 3.”

“Sex and the City 2,” which cost $100 million, made $95.3 million stateside, however fared quite well overseas with $194.7 million. Many B.O. pundits believe that the film’s change in setting from New York to Dubai effected business in the U.S.

Currently, Cattrall is starring in William Shakespeare’s “Antony and Cleopatra” at the Liverpool Playhouse in October.

About her character: “It is one of the great roles ever written for a woman of a certain age and I wasn’t going to let it go by.”

dismal box office? do some research… it’s made 290 million worldwide… was number 1 in germany for 5 weeks, uk for 3, australia for 2, topped the 1st one in japan and greece and overall was down 30% from the original which mostly came from the US… it made 95 million here… not so bad for an admittedly weak entry
