Los Angeles to commemorate the life of DJ AM
HollywoodNews.com: It’s hard to believe that it has been a year since DJ AM died of a drug overdose in an event that shocked the music world. Fans and celebrities across the U.S. took time this past week to kick off a week long celebration to remember a DJ who was a huge part of the nightlife scene.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Rashida Jones, Samantha Ronson, and Stephanie Pratt among others showed up at Trousdale nightclub in Los Angeles to honor the DJ, reports the Los Angeles Times. In addition, tomorrow the anniversary will be remembered by an event at the Fast Life in Los Angeles where Travis Barker will be sponsoring the party that will feature sets by DJ Morse Code and DJ Spider, according to MTV.
The post announcing the event read, “It’s been one year since we lost our friend, so this Saturday we’re meeting up at the Fast Life in Los Angeles to commemorate the life of DJ AM and make a contribution to his memorial fund.”
Goldestein, a recovering addict, was found dead after an accidental drug overdose in his apartment.
