Madonna calls actress’ skills out during ‘W.E.’ audition

HollywoodNews.com: “Tudors” actress Annabelle Wallis is lucky that she scored a role in Madonna’s upcoming film “W.E.”

She was caught lying on her acting resume by her idol. On her credits, Wallis listed she was skilled in various foreign languages. During the audition for “W.E.,” Madonna asked Wallis to speak her part in tongues, but the thesp slipped up.

Wallis told The Daily Telegraph: “Madonna asked me to read in the foreign parts in rehearsals, before those parts had been cast.

“I was stumbling over every word and it soon became clear that I may have been exaggerating slightly when I wrote that I was fluent on my CV. When you are being directed by your idol, it is not the best time to be caught out but she was actually really great about it.”

Wallis wound up landing a role in “W.E.” The period piece centers on the romance between Edward VIII’s and his wife Wallis Simpson.

Simpson will be portrayed by Andrea Riseborough and James D’Arcy will play Edward.
