‘Clash of the Titans 2’ moves forward with new director
HollywoodNews.com: “Clash of the Titans 2” is becoming a reality.
Warner Bros. has found a director for the sequel, Jonathan Liebesman, after the reboot’s helmer Louis Leterrier turned down offers to return.
Liebesman’s credits include 2006’s “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning” as well as the upcoming Sony sci-fi actioner “Battle: Los Angeles” starring Michelle Rodriguez and Aaron Eckhart.
Sam Worthington has agreed to reprise his role as Perseus. Originally, the recent “Clash of the Titans” was conceived as a remake of the 1981 campy epic.
Variety had the news.
Though no release date has been announced yet for “Clash of the Titans 2,” the film is on top of Warner Bros.’ greenlight list as the first installment pulled in close to $500 million worldwide.
Unlike its first chapter, “Clash of the Titans 2” will be shot in 3D rather than being converted from 2D.
