Catherine Zeta Jones lashing out at husband Michael Douglas’s MDs after late cancer discovery Catherine Zeta Jones has rallied against the doctors who failed to spot her husband Michael Douglas’s throat cancer. The actor had repeatedly complained of neck and ear pain before he was diagnosed, The Sun reports.

“Early summer I had a really sore throat. I went through a litany of doctors and tests and they didn’t find anything,” Douglas revealed.

“It makes me furious they didn’t detect it earlier,” Zeta Jones said. “He sought every option and nothing was found. I knew something was up. He knew something was up,” she explained.

This week the ‘Wall Street’ star began an eight-week course of radiation therapy and chemotherapy. The actress has described her pain at watching her husband of ten years undergo the gruelling treatment.

“I know maybe I should be stronger, but emotionally I just don’t want to see that. The hardest part is seeing his fatigue, because Michael is never tired,” she said.

Douglas says he has an 80% chance of beating the disease, declaring, “I’m treating this as curable. It’s a fight. I’ll beat this.”
