Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs slapped with $12m lawsuit for age discrimination

HollywoodNews.com: Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly being sued for $12m by a woman who claims she helped launch his career – but was then fired for being too old.

Francesca Spero, 51, says that she introduced Combs to hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and Uptown Records after meeting him in 1988. Her lawsuit states she then worked at the hip-hop star’s Bad Boy Entertainment record label as an executive for 12 years, before being fired in March.

According to reports, the lawsuit also states that Spero was fired after having hip surgery and claims that she was shown the door because of her age.

Known as “the Mum” or “Auntie” at Bad Boy Records, Spero says she was replaced with a woman who lacked her skill set, but was 10-15 years younger than her.

“Francesca Spero opened the door for Combs’ career and, now that she’s 51, he showed her the door at Bad Boy,” her lawyer Laurie Berke-Weiss said.

A spokesman for Combs said: “There are many reasons why Ms Spero is no longer employed by Bad Boy, but age discrimination is not one of them.”
