HollywoodNews.com: The team behind the upcoming live-action English-language independent film adaptation of the story of Hua Mulan, the heroine who joins an all-male army, is getting down to business. Coming Soon reports that Jan de Bont, who has in the past directed “Lara Croft Tomb Raider”, “Speed”, and “Twister”, has been announced as the project’s director.
The film will star Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi (of “Memoirs of a Geisha” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”) with a script written by John Blickstead and is set to begin filming on location in China this fall.
