“Transformers 3” movie extra recovering from brain surgery

HollywoodNews.com: The last day of filming on the new “Transformers 3” set went terribly wrong when an extra, Gabriela Cedillo, was driving her car through the set to perform a stunt and a cable snapped whipping through her head. While the filming for the film stopped because of the accident, Cedillo is still in critical condition.

She is in a medically induced coma recovering from brain surgery at Loyola Medical Center, according to My Fox Chicago. Cedillo’s neighbor, Nate Smith, said, “It was a blessing to know she was going to be a part of it. But then to find out she was part of the unfortunate accident, it set you back a few steps. … Nothing you can do but sit and pray.”

The film production released a statement that read, “Our thoughts and prayers are with Gabriela, her family and loved ones. We are looking into what caused the accident.”
