First Look: Rooney Mara of “Dragon Tattoo” spotted in Lisbeth Salander garb

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Yep, that sort of looks like Lisbeth Salander.

Blurry set-based photos are usually reserved for anticipated summer blockbusters, be it Johnny Depp in “Pirate” gear  or Michael Bay blowing up Chicago for a third “Transformers” film.

But David Fincher’s anticipated American adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” carries the box-office influence of a summer tent-pole film. (If it succeeds, it will guarantee two more Salander adventures, at the very least.) And so we have our first look at Rooney Mara as she’ll look when playing the hardened, cyber-punk, private investigator.

The photos come to us courtesy of the Rooney Mara Network (via The Playlist). Six photos posted to the “Dragon Tattoo” message board show Mara training to ride a motorcycle. They also give a pretty good look at the actress’s newly shorn and jet-black locks. But then again, we already kind of knew what Salander is supposed to look like:

Fincher’s “Dragon Tattoo” co-stars Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgard, and Robin Wright. It’s scheduled to open on Dec. 21, 2011.
