James Franco on his masturbation habits and arm amputations

HollywoodNews.com: James Franco has opened up about his “five-times-a-day” habit – admitting that is how often he sometimes masturbates in one day.

The cheeky ‘Eat Pray Love’ actor makes his comments in The Hollywood Reporter.

Franco, 32, talks to the newspaper about his habit while promoting his new movie, ‘127 Hours.’

He says: “So, when I’m alone, I do masturbate a lot. I don’t know why. It’s like you have those days where… you’re just like, ‘OK, I’m going to be on the couch all day or in bed all day just doing that’… I tend to have a four- or five-times-a-day [habit]…”

Franco was asked the question in relation to the real-life character he plays in new movie ‘127 Hours,’ about rock climber Aron Ralston who had to amputate his own arm after he became trapped by a boulder while mountaineering in Utah.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie’s director Danny Boyle said that the climber would never reveal whether or not he masturbated while being trapped during the 2003 incident.

Franco says about Ralston: “He’s kind of a gentleman. I guess he doesn’t talk about that stuff. I think he also didn’t want his mom to read it.”

The ‘Spider-Man’ actor also admits to beating himself up to make the scene where Ralston has the accident look realistic.

Talking about filming the pivotal falling scene, he said: “I was deep purple all over [my upper arms and shoulder].”
