Liam Neeson agrees to sink Peter Berg’s “Battleship”

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Peter Berg’s “Battleship” finally has a credible, award-winning actor on its roster, and it’s Liam Neeson.

Fresh off his turn in Joe Carnahan’s “The A-Team,” Neeson continues to feed his hunger for popcorn blockbusters by starring as Admiral Shane, according to Variety. Neeson joins Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Rihanna and Hamish Linklater. Such a strange cast.

According to the article, “Battleship” will “unfold as a massive Naval adventure across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force.”

Universal will open the movie on May 18, 2012.
