Terrence Malick’s ‘Tree of Life’ might blossom at theaters
HollywoodNews.com: Following rumors that “Tree of Life” was being sneak-previewed in pockets of the country, the Terrence Malick epic looks to be unloaded by its current distributor Apparition to another label.
News will come shortly as to who that new distributor is. Nonetheless, there is anticipation that “Tree of Life” will be released for this year’s Oscar race, throwing Brad Pitt and Sean Penn into contention.
Great news about the film comes at the cost of Apparition, an indie label that let go of the rest of its staff today. The indie company use to be co-headed by indie wunderkind Bob Berney, however he left Apparition prior to the Cannes Film Festival.
Meanwhile, owner Bill Pohlad is mulling the future of the company.
Malick is known for his poetic dialogue coupled with his epic cinematography. He’s a vet of ‘70s cinema and doesn’t grant media interviews.
