Jessica Alba, Joel McHale are an item in ‘Spy Kids 4’

HollywoodNews.com: Joel McHale will be married to Jessica Alba — in Robert Rodriguez’s “Spy Kids 4,” that is.

The host of E!’s “The Soup” will be playing a spy-hunting reporter who is the husband to Alba’s character, the stepmother of his kids.

Dimension will be releasing “Spy Kids 4” on August 19. The entire “Spy Kids” franchise has minted $360 million at the worldwide box office. In the trilogy, Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara played the children of spy parents Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino.

In addition to starring on NBC’s avant garde sitcom “Community,” McHale’s film career has been blossoming lately. Last fall, he starred in Steve Soderbergh’s “The Informant!” Recently he finished shooting “What’s Your Number” with Anna Farris and “The Big Year” opposite Steve Martin.

Alba recently starred in Rodriguez’s “Machete” and prior to that the director’s “Sin City.”

Variety had the news.
