Cyndi Lauper brings awareness to LGBT youth suicide

HollywoodNews.com: Thank God for Cyndi Lauper and her Give A Damn campaign which features people in a series of videos who really care about equality.

I want to share this newest one that is about LGBT youth suicide in which Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Lily Tomlin, Judith Light and Mae Whitman.

Mae points out that LGBT youth are four times more likely to commit suicide than their straight peers. Judith says it is not because they are LGBT but because “they feel alone and rejected.”

Lily asks viewers to “imagine feeling so isolated that you start to wonder whether anyone even gives a damn whether you’re alive or dead. … It’s time to help our children and friends accept themselves and know that they are loved.”
