Zach Galifianakis’ great idea: The best setting for ‘Hangover 2’
HollywoodNews.com: Comedic actor Zach Galifianakis has an excellent idea: Set “The Hangover 2” in Moscow.
“I think Russia would be amazing,” the actor tells Entertainment Weekly, “The first ‘Hangover’ worked because it was Vegas, but it was the dirty side of Vegas, not the glitzy one. You’ve got to put the characters against danger. So they could get involved in organized crime in Moscow, which I think is incredibly scary.”
However, as Galifianakis dishes this idea to the press, it turns out director Todd Phillips has another locale in mind.
“Where it is going to take place is beautiful,” says Galifianakis. “They probably will show the dirty part of the beauty. I think that’s the goal.”
Galifianakis played the quirky gent Alan Garner in the original 2009 film. “Hangover 2” hits theaters next year.
The actor is generating award heat on his turn in the Focus Features film “It’s Kind of a Funny Story” due out October 8. He’s also appearing alongside Robert Downey Jr. in Phillips’ upcoming “Due Date” on November 5.
