“One Tree Hill” to cover theme song in season 8

HollywoodNews.com: After three seasons without using the show’s theme song, The CW’s music-forward “One Tree Hill” reintroduces musician Gavin DeGraw’s chart topping hit “I Don’t Want To Be,” as the main title opener to the season 8 premiere episode.

In an innovative twist, the show will feature a different performer covering the hit song throughout the season, each in their own unique style. Featured artists include Aimee Mann, Patrick Stump of “Fall Out Boy,” “Tegan & Sara,” Matthew Ryan, Laura Izibor and Kate Voegele.

“One Tree Hill” was created by Mark Schwahn and is executive produced by Schwahn, Joe Davola, Greg Prange, Mike Tollin and Brian Robbins. “One Tree Hill” is produced by Mastermind Laboratories and Tollin/Robbins Production in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The season 8 premieres on Tuesday, September 14 (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET).
