Russell Crowe is gonna be kung-fu fighting

HollywoodNews.com: Russell Crowe will be starring in Wu-Tang Clan rapper RZA’s directorial foray “The Man With the Iron Fist.”

The film will be set in feudal China and shot on location in Shanghai in December.

RZA spoke to E! about the news.

Revealing very little about Crowe’s character, who will play opposite the director’s weapons-blacksmith protagonist, RZA exclaimed, “I won’t spoil it for you, but Russell’s gonna be the baddest man alive. That man is in fighting shape. That man will knock you out.

“It’s nerve-wracking. [Crowe’s] a master of the craft. I’m quite sure that I may learn something from him.”

RZA co-wrote the script with horror maestro Eli Roth.

So what’s the link between RZA and Crowe?

Both appeared in Ridley Scott’s “American Gangster” and the upcoming Paul Haggis’ film “The Next Three Days.” They also recorded a song together for “Gangster,” but the film’s producers opted against its use on the soundtrack.

“Next Three Days” bows on November 19. The plot per IMDB: “A married couple’s life is turned upside down when the wife is accused of a murder.”
