Ben Affleck premieres ‘The Town’ at Boston’s Fenway Park

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: I’d be willing to bet this premiere meant a lot more to Ben Affleck than recent bows at Venice or Toronto.

That’s because for one night only, Affleck and crew rolled a red carpet out in his beloved Fenway Park for the Massachusetts premiere of the actor-director’s crime thriller, “The Town.” Co-stars John Hamm and Blake Lively attended last night’s event with Affleck. Footage can be seen on MyFoxBoston.com.

“It’s fascinating. It’s unique. It’s very unusual,” Affleck said about filming in Boston. “It’s not like in the rest of country, where places have gotten more similar. … This place still feels like itself.”

Without giving away any spoilers, a major scene takes place at Fenway Park. The evening must have been a thrill for Affleck, a devoted Red Sox fan and public son of Boston.

“The Town,” which also stars Rebecca Hall, Jeremy Renner and Chris Cooper, opens everywhere this Friday, Sept. 17.
