Kevin James soon to be a Karate cutup

HollywoodNews.com: Russell Crowe isn’t the only actor who will be kung-fu fighting in a new film, but Kevin James is set to give some roundhouse kicks on the big screen as well.

Sony has recently greenlit the untitled mixed martial arts feature which is being written by Allan Loeb.

James is set to portray a physics teacher who turns to tournament fighting after he runs the risk of losing his job.

Sony has fast tracked the project and is quite high about James as a household comedy star after his $100 million-plus box office success with “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” and “The Grown Ups.”

James will unspool his next comedy “Zookeeper” on July 8, 2011.
