Ricki Lake’s Malibu home destroyed in fire

HollywoodNews.com: Ricki Lake’s home burned to the ground after she tried to refuel a portable heater, sheriffs have said.

The 41-year-old TV star was trying to refuel the heater at her house in Malibu, California, on Sunday morning when a couch caught fire and the blaze broke out. According to authorities the fire started at around 7.18am and was declared “knocked down” at 7.51am.

The flames reportedly rose as high as 30 feet in the air and police had to close down a section of the Pacific Coast Highway while they dealt with the blaze. Lake’s spokesperson said there were no injuries and the former talk show presenter was able to escape unscathed with her sons Milo, 13, Owen, nine and their pet dog.
