Katherine Heigl donates big money to help dogs
HollywoodNews.com: Katherine Heigl wants to help dogs avoid being killed senselessly, so she has decided to throw in a chunk of change to support the cause.
Heigl recently donated $1 million to the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation which was founded by Katherine and her mother, states Hollyscoop. The money will be used for spay and neuter programs in Los Angeles so that many dogs are not killed instead.
Heigl reportedly first became interested in setting up this kind of foundation as she grew up with dogs and now feels that something has to be done to help them.
