‘Scream 4’ is like ‘summer camp’ for cast

HollywoodNews.com: The stars of “Scream 4” were dishing out pleasantries about working together on the set recently.

Teasing her character’s storyline, the hard-nosed TV journalist Gale Weathers, Courteney Cox reveals, “She’s pretty bored, pretty miserable, pretty desperate.

“And all of a sudden some murders start happening and her life starts to look up. She likes a good murder.”

“Scream” has always been a special production set for Cox, because it’s where she met her husband David Arquette.

Arquette gave a rundown of their off-set romance throughout the horror franchise:

“On the first one we were flirting a lot and falling in love.

“The second one, she was very upset with me and we were on and off.

“By the third one I think we were engaged to be married. And now we have COCO.”

What remains special for Cox, is that she has become closer with co-star Neve Campbell during the fourth installment. While they’ve always been friendly, they never really connected during previous shoots.

“We were nice to each other and socialized a little bit, but for some reason Scream 4, that’s when we clicked,” says Cox,

“I was like, ‘I can’t believe I missed out on all these great years with you’.”

Neve added: “It’s like going back to summer camp.”

“Scream 4,” from Weinstein Co.’s Dimension label, is set to open in the U.S. on April 15. The entire “Scream” franchise has made a little over a half billion dollars at the global box office.
