Rihanna is ‘diligent’ in ‘Battleship’ says Alexander Skarsgård

HollywoodNews.com: Alexander Skarsgård is really impressed by Rihanna’s work on the film “Battleship.”

The Swedish actor, who is beloved for his work on “True Blood” as baddie, sexy vampire Eric, praised the songstress’ turn on the set despite a very hectic schedule.

“This is her first movie but she’s great, she’s really really good in it,” Skarsgård says, “She’s got a crazy schedule. She’s really diligent and I’m impressed. We would work and then she’d fly to LA to perform at the MTV [Video] Music Awards and then fly back red-eye, land, go straight to set, work all day. No complaints, nothing. She’s really solid.”

In the film, Skarsgård plays the commander of a Navy destroyer.

This isn’t the first time that the actor has played opposite a pop diva. He starred in Lady Gaga’s music video “Paparazzi.” The shoot lasted a day and Skarsgård labeled the experience as “crazy” and “a lot of fun.”

However, Rihanna isn’t as zany as Gaga onset.

“[Filming Battleship] is a different experience because Rihanna, we’re out there together for a couple of months,” said Skarsgård.

“Battleship” docks in theaters on May 25, 2012.
