Bruce Willis elaborates on Stallone’s plan for “Expendables” sequel
By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: It’s beginning to sound like the next “Expendables” will have more cast members than “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.”
Writer-director-star Sylvester Stallone already received a ton of credit for finding spots for a dozen action stars both old (Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li), new (Jason Statham), and vintage (Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger). Stallone has been talking about a sequel ever since the August release topped $100 million at the domestic box office. He even suggested that he’d like Willis’ character to come back as the main villain.
This weekend, Willis was in New York promoting “Red,” and he spoke to ComingSoon about Stallone’s plans.
“I talked to Sly and he’s going for all the marbles this time, and he’s going to get everybody in this time,” Willis said. “Even Stone Cold Steve Austin who took two bullets in the last film, he’s coming back, too.”
So death doesn’t keep a good “Expendable” down! That’s good to know. And speaking of death, Willis went on to say, “Hopefully, they’ll start shooting it while we’re young enough to survive.”
Stallone’s “Expendables” has earned nearly $250 million worldwide, so a sequel is inevitable. We’ll bring you more news on “Expendables 2” as it surfaces.
