Full-length “True Grit” trailer makes its way online

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Earlier this morning, in today’s Awards Season Roundup, I mentioned that I’d seen the longer “True Grit” trailer ahead of “The Social Network” this weekend, and that it gave us a better feel for the tone Joel and Ethan Coen were going for with their adaptation of Charles Portis’ vengeance novel.

I also mentioned that, to me, the picture felt more like a barn-burning Western than an Oscar contender, but didn’t want to commit one way or another until I’ve seen the finished film (which we won’t get to until December).

Well, now you can see the full clip and judge for yourself. Paramount has posted a long “True Grit” trailer, with much more from lead actors Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, as well as hints on the film’s dark humor. Check it out here.

“True Grit” stars Bridges, Damon, Josh Brolin and newcomer Hailee Steinfeld as the girl who wants to see the man who murdered her husband brought to justice. It opens on Dec. 25.
