Robert De Niro may only direct three more movies

HollywoodNews.com: Robert De Niro’s directing credits in the future are limited.

The legendary actor revealed that directing takes a lot of energy out of him and that there’s probably only three directing projects left in him. To date, he only has two films as helmer: 1993’s “A Bronx Tale” and 2006’s “The Good Shepherd.”

Even though he is a highly lauded and respected actor, De Niro confesses that it’s not easy getting a film off the ground in Hollywood.

“It’s an uphill battle… The creative part, that’s difficult enough. But the fun stuff is all the other stuff that goes with it: people; the input from studios, and all the people who have to justify their jobs; and the money; and is this actor going to get more, or they’re not right for it.

“It’s a lot you’ve got to field. A lot coming at you.”

De Niro will headline “Stone” which bows on October 8.
