Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie in new “Tourist” tease

Hollywoodnews.com: I’m still trying to get a handle on “The Tourist.”

It looks like light, escapist fun — similar to what Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz were trying to do with “Knight & Day” – but it’s not opening in the superficial summer months. It’s grabbing a coveted weekend in the awards-ready month of December. It stars heavy hitters Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, though technically, they both have made popcorn flicks like “Wanted” and “Pirates” in the past. And we can’t tell too much from director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck because his first film “The Lives of Others,” while critically acclaimed, was completely different in tone and structure – I think – from “Tourist.”

So we’re relying heavily on photos, clips, teasers and more to piece together what we are going to get when “Tourist” opens on Dec. 10. This morning, ComingSoon.net has an exclusive clip with some additional footage. Not much. Most of this we’ve already seen. But some.

It’s worth noting that the clip still blends comedy (the “attempted murder” joke) with action, romance and intrigue. It looks like Sony is trying to hit on all four squares with “Tourist.” We’ll know soon enough if they can.

    Angelina is just as guilty as Jennifer Aniston of always playing the same role. While Jolie may not age out as quickly of her roles she is getting boring. This woman is no Oprah. She is much of an unstable person to be.

    We’ll just have to wait and see…here’s hoping the movie is not a disappointment!
