Johnny Depp, in full “Pirates” gear, makes surprise stop at London school

By Sean O’Connell In the age of Facebook and Twitter, it has become easier to reach out to your favorite celebrity and have them respond.

Drop a tweet at Katy Perry or Russell Brand, and the hot couple might answer you back. Post on Kevin Smith’s various outlets and you might find yourself debating with the director behind “Clerks,” “Chasing Amy” and “Cop Out.”

And then there’s Beatrice Delap, a 9-year-old British student who wrote to Johnny Depp asking him to assist her (in “Pirates” gear) with a “mutiny” she planned to launch against her teachers.

Much to her surprise, Depp was on board with the idea, and he showed up at Delap’s London primary school (in “Pirates” gear) to grant her wish, according to the Daily Mail.

“He gave me a hug and he said, ‘Maybe we shouldn’t mutiny today ‘cos there are police outside monitoring me,’” Delap said.

Depp was filming scenes for the fourth “Pirates Of The Caribbean” movie, subtitled “On Stranger Tides,” at the nearby Old Naval College. In the film, Depp’s character, Jack Sparrow, sets off to find the Fountain of Youth.
