Mary Hart to return as host of the Hollywood Awards Gala

HollywoodNews.com: “Entertainment Tonight’s” Mary Hart will once again host the 14th Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony, presented by Starz, on Monday, October 25th at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA. This will be the seventh time Ms. Hart has acted as host for the Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony honoring excellence in the art of filmmaking, as well as creative talent within the global creative community.

The Hollywood Awards Gala will also pay tribute to Mary Hart for her seven years of support for the Festival and Awards, as well as her more than 30 years of promotion and support of the Hollywood entertainment community. Ms. Hart will receive a Hollywood Award as part of that honor.

“We are so honored and excited to have Mary join us once again as our host for this year’s gala. It’s a privilege to have such a professional gracing our stage and appreciate all the support Mary has given us over the years,” stated Carlos de Abreu, Founder of the Hollywood Awards Gala.

Honorees for this year’s Hollywood Awards Gala include: Sylvester Stallone for the “Hollywood Career Achievement Award”; Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary for the “Hollywood Innovator Award”; Tom Hooper for the “Hollywood Director Award”; Annette Bening for the “Hollywood Actress Award”, Robert Duvall for the “Hollywood Actor Award”, Sean Penn for the “Humanitarian Award”; Helena Bonham Carter for the “Supporting Actress Award”; Sam Rockwell for the “Supporting Actor Award”; Andrew Garfield for the “Breakthrough Actor Award”; Mia Wasikowska for the “Breakthrough Actress Award”; Danny Boyle and Chris Colson for the “Producer Award”; Aaron Sorkin for the “Screenwriter Award”; Disney/Pixar’s “Toy Story 3” and director Lee Unkrich for the “Animation Award”; Hans Zimmer for “Film Composer Award”; Wally Pfister for “Cinematographer Award”; Kirk Baxter and Angus Wall for the “Hollywood Editor Award”; Paramount Pictures’ “Iron Man 2” and visual effects supervisors Ben Snow and Janek Sirrs for the “Visual Effects Award”; and Robert Stromberg for “Production Designer Award.” Additional honorees will be announced.

The Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 25, 2010.

ABOUT MARY HART

This year, Mary Hart begins her 29th and final season as host of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, the No. 1 syndicated entertainment newsmagazine show in the world. Hart joined ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT as a correspondent on June 24, 1982.

In 1999, Hart was inducted into Broadcasting & Cable’s Hall of Fame. She also accepted the Broadcasting & Cable Hall of Fame Award on behalf of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT in 2006. Hart has also been recognized by The American Women in Radio & Television with the 2002 Gracie Allen Award. She was also awarded AWRT’s Silver Satellite Award for outstanding accomplishments in electronic communications in 1998. In 1990, Hart was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Hart is a member of the board of trustees for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and is Leadership Chair of the New Hospital Campaign. She is also an ambassador for Childhelp USA. In addition, she helps raise awareness about heart disease through her efforts with the American Heart Association.
