Stephenie Meyer confirms “Twilight” casting on Facebook

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer took to Facebook last night to post a special note to her fans in celebration of the fact that the Twilight Facebook Fan Page (located at http://www.facebook.com/twilight) reached 15 million fans.

“You guys never cease to amaze me,” Meyer wrote in the brief missive.

The note was long enough to confirm one bit of key casting. Meyer stated that young actress Mackenzie Foy indeed has been cast as Renesmee in the upcoming two-part adaptation of “Breaking Dawn.”

“Very excited about our new Renesmee, Mackenzie Foy,” Meyer writes. “She’s an amazing young actress and I’m excited to work with her.”

And fans, all 15 million of them, are excited to see her in the role, I’m sure.

Bill Condon (“Chicago”) is currently at work on the first half of “Breaking Dawn,” which is scheduled to be in theaters almost one year from now. It opens Nov. 18, 2011.
