Sharon Stone: “People need to trust and believe that they are beautiful”

HollywoodNews.com: Actress Sharon Stone has admitted she never saw herself as beautiful when she was younger.

The 52-year-old star was 34 when she appeared in hit movie ‘Basic Instinct’ but said she wasn’t confident about her looks. She told Britain’s Easy Living magazine: “I’ve got to be honest with you, I never thought I was beautiful. When I saw Basic Instinct, I sat in the cinema going: ‘Oh my God – look how they made me look!’ My friend said: ‘That’s how you look!’ And I said: ‘It isn’t, but I could look like that. They made me look so cool! I could go and get some clothes like that and do my make-up like that’.”

Stone, who has three young children, said she believes plastic surgery is a good thing but not for young women.

She said: “Well, I don’t think surgery is a bad thing – if you want to do it, go ahead. I just think that to start doing it when you’re so young is wrong. People are pushed to overdo it, pushed into gigantic lips and for everyone to look the same. People need to trust and believe that they are beautiful.”
