Courteney Cox, David Arquette go their separate ways

HollywoodNews.com: In a very odd turn of events, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, who are consumed with filming “Scream 4” currently, are planning to divorce. Ironically it was their work on the first “Scream” that brought the two together in 1996.

The couple has been married for 11 years and share a six-year old daughter Coco.

People got a hold of their press statement which read that they have “agreed to a trial separation that dates back for some time.”

“The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage,” they stated. “We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply. As we go through this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together.

“We are comfortable with the boundaries that we have established for each other during this separation and we hope that our friends, family, fans and the media also show us respect, dignity, understanding and love at this time as well.”

Cox, 46, and Arquette, 39, have even produced projects together, one title being the latter’s feature directorial debut, the 2006 horror film “The Tripper.” In addition, Arquette directed an episode for Cox’s 2008 FX show “Dirt.”

Cox has confessed to the glossies that she has been through couples therapy and continues to argue with Arquette about the same subjects for years.
