Angelina Jolie issues statement on her Bosnian film
HollywoodNews.com: Angelina Jolie issued a statement in response to the stir caused by her Bosnian War film.
The actress’ permit to lense the film in Bosnia was revoked after a group of women war victims protested the film’s storyline which centers on a Bosnian woman falling in love with a Serbian man prior to the breakout of the 1992 war.
Jolie is directing the film, which hasn’t halted production despite rumors. She continues to film in Budapest and is hoping that she’ll be able to shoot in Bosnia.
“There are many twists in the plot that address the sensitive nature of the relationship between the main characters and that will be revealed once the film is released,” Jolie said in a statement.
She added: “My hope is that people will hold judgment until they have seen the film.
“Obviously any dramatic interpretation will always fail those who have had a real experience.
It was also reported by Digital Spy that the film’s executive producer submitted a script to Bosnian authorities and that he plans to reapply for a film permit.
