Andrew Garfield connects with Spider-man

HollywoodNews.com: Andrew Garfield is taking a method actor’s approach to Spider-man.

The actor is trying to connect facets of himself to that of his on-screen alter-ego, particularly in terms of the pressures both he and Peter Parker/Spider-man face. The process is a challenge for the thespian.

“I think it’s going to be a little bit more complicated than what I imagined. And, of course, I’m going to feel a great pressure, which might be one of Peter Parker’s great struggles, in having to live up to this thing that he is supposed to be or symbolizes,” says Garfield.

“It will be interesting. I think the more I can tie into my own reality, the better and more enriching it will be for everyone involved,” added the actor.

Garfield, 27, has been introduced to U.S. audiences this season in the critically acclaimed “The Social Network” and the British import “Never Let Me Go.”

Upon being casted, Garfield felt as though he was in a “bubble.”

He recently spoke with Virgin Media about the role.

It was announced last week that “Easy A” star Emma Stone had been cast as Garfield’s love interest in Marc Webb’s superhero epic.
