Kristen Stewart says strip club owner offered her a job

By Sean O’Connell If this acting thing doesn’t pan out for “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart, the performer says she has an offbeat secondary career track all lined up.

“I went to a strip club with the director and the costume designer [for ‘Welcome to the Rileys’], and it being an odd grouping of people going into a strip club in the middle of the afternoon, I was, like, straight-up offered a job,” Stewart told MTV while promoting the Jake Scott drama.

The comment isn’t as out-of-left-field as you might expect. In the film, Stewart plays a wayward teen who turns to stripping but is “saved” by a compassionate couple (portrayed by James Gandolfini and Melissa Leo). And while Stewart wasn’t necessarily going Method for the part, she tells MTV she did wear some of her character’s suggestive outfits around New Orleans and received plenty of attention.

“And then walking around New Orleans wearing the kind of stuff I was wearing literally could be like boom, boom, boom, done,” Stewart said, hinting how easy it would have been to “conquer” the men who were leering at her.

“But I would never do that,” she said.

Not so long as she has “Twilight” money to fall back on, anyway.

“Rileys” opens in select cities on Oct. 29. It goes wide on Nov. 5.
