Nicole Kidman carries first official “Rabbit Hole” trailer

By Sean O’Connell The official trailer for John Cameron Mitchell’s “Rabbit Hole” has reached the internet this afternoon, giving interested parties their first glance at a heavy emotional drama that has been whipping up a frenzy on the fall festival circuit.

Most of the conversation has revolved around Nicole Kidman’s performance as a grieving mother dealing with the loss of a child. Aaron Eckhart reportedly has been strong in support as Kidman’s husband, though the couple both benefit from David Lindsay-Abaire’s adaptation of his own award-winning stage play.

Expect Lionsgate to mount a steady awards campaign for “Rabbit Hole” as the film rolls out. It will be in select theaters on Dec. 17, expanding well into 2011.
