In writing about the Hollywood Film Awards, held Monday at the Beverly Hilton, Pete Hammond touches on “Winter’s Bone,” “Rabbit Hole,” “The Kids Are All Right” and “127 Hours,” and where they stand in the Oscar race.

Sony Pictures Classics, meanwhile, is pushing “Animal Kingdom” into the awards race, putting screeners in the hands of critics and guild members. The film was just nominated for 18 Australian Film Institute Awards, including eight nominations in the acting categories, alone. It’s an Aussie juggernaut.
