Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King rough it in the wild during camping adventure

HollywoodNews.com: Oprah Winfrey looked bleary-eyed as she roughed it in a tent during a camping trip.

The chat show queen sported glasses and a fetching pair of owl patterned pyjamas as she peered sleepily out of her sleeping bag. Winfrey, 56, also wore safety goggles, tended to a trailer, went fishing and served drinks during her excursion to Yosemite, California, with pal Gayle King.

But the talk show host implied she was not a natural camper as she exclaimed: “Never do that again.” Oprah told her studio audience that she decided to organize the trip because ‘not enough black people go camping’.

“A black park ranger invited us to come because he said ‘I’ve been a park ranger for 18 years and not enough black people come camping’,” she explained.

The full story of her Yosemite visit will air on her chat show on Friday.

Some friends of ours guided Oprah and Gayle on their trip. The Grossenbachers are fishing guides out of Bozeman, MT and have been fishing with one of Oprah’s producers for several years. Unfortunately it sounds like the fishing excursion only lasted a half an hour and there were lots of camera people wading around but it is great to give our sport some exposure.
