Robert Downey Jr. wants to act with Zach Galifianakis again

HollywoodNews.com: Robert Downey Jr would love to work with his “Due Date” co-star Zach Galifianakis again, particularly in “The Hangover 2.”

However, Downey Jr. would want a headlining role, not a cameo.

“I’d love to work with Zach again, but I’m not going to go do a ‘day’ on his sequel. Let’s not kid ourselves. Besides, they’ve had enough squabbles over their paltry salaries. They can’t afford me,” Downey Jr. told Extra.

Both comedic actors bonded on the set of “Due Date” and became good friends. However, they are two very different people.

“We’re not very much alike, but we do like each other,” said Galifianakis.

“Due Date” opens on November 5. Galifianakis was the recent winner of the Hollywood Comedy Award.

Whether “Due Date” or its actors become pivotal players in award season remains a question. Last January, Todd Phillips’ R-rated summer hit “The Hangover” won Best Comedy at the Golden Globes.

Is this spin doctoring? There was tension in the press tour, and Robert Downey did say Zach needed acting lessons. Zach went out of his way to queer the deal for Mel Gibson to be in Hangover 2 and Robert Downey Jr. is a good friend of Gibson. So it would seem natural that there would be tension. It sounds like “business” with a movie coming out.

I’m still very off-put by Zach and his Mel bashing. Smoking a joint on Maher doesn’t erase that.
Zach still is a twerp as far as I’m concerned.
