Ricky Martin tells Oprah he is a “fortunate homosexual man”

By Greg Hernandez

HollywoodNews.com: Ricky Martin’s appearance on Oprah this week reminded me of when a newly out Greg Louganis appeared on the show back in the mid-90s (he also had a book coming out). Both men never looked happier and had never been more embraced.

Ricky, who tweeted his coming out earlier this year, has a new memoir out this week called Me.

“I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man,” Ricky told Oprah during their interview.

He said when he first came out, he felt “numb” and then he felt “relieved.” Then it really hit him: ”When I realized, okay, I just pressed send, whoo … I was alone. I was in my studio alone for a minute. My assistant walked in and I just started crying like a little baby. I started crying.”
