Yoko Ono: The original Gaga?

HollywoodNews.com: Yoko Ono claims she almost became Lady Gaga before the ‘Paparazzi’ star was even born.

John Lennon’s widow says legendary pop artist Andy Warhol, who died a year after Gaga was born, was desperate to remake her as an over-the-top pop star – and she says his ideas were exactly what Gaga has now become.

But Yoko says the timing was wrong for her – but hints that things may well have been different now. “Warhol said, ‘Yoko, you should be doing like this and that’,” she recalled.

“He was actually predicting something like Lady Gaga, the costumes and everything. He said, ‘You should do that’, but I said, ‘Well I’m an activist and I’m not going to do that.’ I was in a different mood then.”

Ono, who performed with Gaga last month in a tribute to John Lennon, admits she is a huge fan of the pop sensation. “What she’s doing is beautiful,” she said.

But Yoko admits she could never do everything Gaga does. “I don’t think I would like to be too near a meat dress,” she said.
