“Jane Eyre” poster, synopsis on Facebook

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Focus Features beefed up its presence on the Facebook fan page for Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s “Jane Eyre,” adding a plot synopsis and teasing the film’s first official poster. We have it below.

The oft-filmed “Jane Eyre” will be Fukunaga’s follow up to the critically acclaimed “Sin Nombre,” and it has a cast most would salivate over. Red-hot Mia Wasikowska, fresh off “Alice in Wonderland” and riding the wave for “The Kids Are All Right,” plays the title character. Michael Fassbender plays Edward Rochester. Jamie Bell, Sally Hawkins, Imogen Poots and Judi Dench round out the supporting cast.

The cast alone gets me in the door. Fukunaga’s “Sin Nombre” also showed his promise as a director, and while I’m not entirely enthused by yet another retelling of “Eyre,” I think that Fukunaga is the right person for the job.

“Jane Eyre” opens March 11, 2011.
