Conan O’Brien tops late-night talk shows among young viewers
HollywoodNews.com: Conan O’Brien has made a bold statement on television with his highly anticipated new show hitting TBS this week. His new series topped television’s late-night talk show among young viewers and also attracted an audience with a projected median age of just 32 for the week.
His Nov. 8 premiere was sampled by 4,155,000 viewers, and the show’s strength proved to be in its appeal to young fans. For the week, “Conan” averaged 1,498,000 adults 18-34 and 2,157,000 adults 18-49, topping all other late-night talk shows. “Conan” averaged 2,929,000 viewers for the week.
“We’re thrilled that Conan and his team put together such a smart, funny show,” said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming, for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). “We couldn’t be happier with the great response from his fans. “Conan” is a big hit among young viewers, with a median age that is more than two decades younger than the show’s rivals on broadcast.”
