Halle Berry isn’t playing Oprah Winfrey, but might be back in Oscar race

HollywoodNews.com: Halle Berry squashed a wild rumor that she was set to play Oprah Winfrey in an upcoming film on the talk show host’s life.

Talking on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” which is set to air Monday, Berry exclaimed, “I’m not going to play Oprah.

“No, I was just like [pretends to be on the phone], ‘Hey, Oprah, Am I playing you? Just tell me because nobody has told me this.’ I don’t know where these rumors come from.”

Berry claimed she had no knowledge if a movie was being made.

“Not that I wouldn’t want to play Oprah if there was a movie. I just don’t know how this stuff gets made up,” adds the actress.

Winfrey is launching her cable network OWN on January 1. She’s also ending her run as a talk show host after 25 years.

Meanwhile, the Oscar-winning best actress per EW is generating heat this season for her film “Frankie & Alice” in which she plays a stripper with a multiple personality disorder. The film is bowing on December 17 from Freestyle Releasing.
